'99-'13 XVZ1300TF and CT Royal Star V-Four with Mikuni BDS32
This was the big daddy of the Yamaha cruiser bikes in a V-Four design and the . These models all have the same set of Mikuni BDS32 carbs that only had some cosmetic changes and all had the same tuning for 49 states and California. California models just have some extra hoses and catch tanks, but otherwise the same internal tune. The earlier XVZ1300A, LT. and AT Royal Stars ('96-'01) used a smaller and totally different carb (BDS28) SEE HERE. I rebuild a lot of these carbs and they are not a carb I would suggest doing as a first rebuild as they have plenty of pitfalls. One inparticular is 3 different sized main jets placed based on cylinder number. Easy to get wrong due to the way the carbs position on the bike.
Note: Starting in '74 Yamaha started year coding bikes in the last letter used in the name. You may see this code on your bikes paperwork or in a parts list or catalog. I leave this off as it is redundant if you are showing the year anyway. There is a chart below to find your year code.
Below are a set of XVZ1300TFV (4XY 40) Mikuni BDS32 carbs.
These are a much more powerful carb than the earlier BDS28 and do
not share anything in common with them. The chrome plates in the
pictures are a custom part, not factory.

These two models do have variations on the 4XY part number that only pertain to California and cosmetic changes. Basically, models above have one carb type all with the same internal tuning. This does not include the '01 and earlier XVZ1300A, LT, or AT that has a totally different carb SEE HERE.
