'96-'01 XVZ1300 Royal Star Boulevard V-Four with Mikuni BDS28
This was the big daddy of the Yamaha cruiser bikes in a V-Four design. These models all have the same set of Mikuni BDS28 carbs that only had some cosmetic changes and all had the same tuning for 49 states and California. California models just have some extra hoses and catch tanks, but otherwise the same internal tune. The only bike to be aware of is the '99-up XVZ1300TF Venture. All the Ventures (and Royal Stars made after '01) used a larger and totally different carb (BDS32) SEE HERE. I rebuild a lot of these carbs and they are not a carb I would suggest doing as a first rebuild as they have plenty of pitfalls.
Note: Starting in '74 Yamaha started year coding bikes in the last letter used in the name. You may see this code on your bikes paperwork or in a parts list or catalog. I leave this off as it is redundant if you are showing the year anyway. There is a chart below to find your year code.

Every bike listed uses the same tuning parts. Most kits do not come
with everything you need to do a correct rebuild. Especially the
very tiny seals for the main jets. These bike run like butter when
the carbs are correctly built.

Basically, this model has one carb type until the '99-up XVZ1300TF which is the Royal Star Venture or any other Royal Stars made after '01 that have a totally different carb SEE HERE.
