Rob's Carburetor Rebuilds

'94-'98 YZF750R with Mikuni BDST38 Down-draft Carbs

This was the street bike answer to a OWO1 that anybody could own. Very cool and short lived machine, and rare. This makes it easy for bad info or mixed parts to come into play for this model. Since the FZR1000 was more common you sometimes find them with those carbs. But these are a special set of BDST38 Mikuni carbs. They have a special jet block with a unique main jet. These bikes were one of the best 750cc sport bikes made at the time, but they were not sold in big numbers due to being late to the party. Too bad too, just ask anyone who has one that runs right.

Note: Starting in '74 Yamaha started year coding bikes in the last letter used in the name. You may see this code on your bikes paperwork or in a parts list or catalog.  I leave this off as it is redundant if you are showing the year anyway. There is a chart below to find your year code.

Below is a set of '96-'98 YZF750R 4LE-20 Mikuni BDST38 carbs. These were the same tuning '94-'98 including the California version.

'94 YZF750R------------------------------------------4LE 00
'94 YZF750R-------------------------------------------4LE 10 California
'96-'98 YZF750R-------------------------------------4LE 20
