'89-'99 FZR600R with Mikuni BDS32

This was probably the most popular of the FZR series for the US market. The FZR600 uses a set of Mikuni BDS32 total downdraft carbs. These are high reving around 11K RPM and that makes the carb suffer at mid-range if there are any issues. Set-up correctly these little bikes are beasts and can be very fun at a track day.

Note: Starting in '74 Yamaha started year coding bikes in the last letter used in the name. You may see this code on your bikes paperwork or in a parts list or catalog. I leave this off as it is redundant if you are showing the year anyway. There is a chart below to find your year code.

Below is a set of '92-'99 FZR600 3HH-04 Mikuni BDS32 carbs. These were the same tuning '89-'99 other than the California version , but they do come with variations of the throttle cable bracket. This mainly pertains to the B cable, but it is a good reason to ID the carbs. It is very important the float height and float seat assembly are set-up right or you can easily damage an engine with hydraulic lock-up.
