'86-'88 GSXR1100 Oil Cooled Fours with Mikuni BST34SS CV Flat-Slide Carbs
This is the first generation, for the US, of the GSXR1100 with BST34SS carbs. An entirely new design for Suzuki street bikes and routinely mixed up with incorrect parts, bad tuning and parts from other models that used the first gen BST carbs like Katana 1100's.
Starting in '71 Suzuki started year coding bikes in the last letter used in the name. You may see this code on your bikes paperwork or in a parts list or catalog. I leave this off as it is redundant if you are showing the year anyway. There is a chart below to find your year code.
Below is NOT a set of '86-'88 GSXR1100 carbs. I had zero pictures of a set I have rebuilt. They are super rare as a lot of the 1052 motors got damaged over the years and were replaced by 1127 engines that used the newer gen BST36ss carbs. So instead i am showing a set of GSX1100F Katana carbs which are BST34SS along with a few pics of a set of '86 GSXR750 carbs to show the type of brackets they used on the GSXR1100's.
