'90-'97 GSX750F Katanas with Mikuni BST36SS CV Slingshot Carbs

This is the first generation of the GSX750F with the Slingshot BST36SS carbs. They made this model for a number of years and the carbs all physically fit any of these years. However, they have internal tuning differences on the California models. They rarely are virgin and have usually been worked on by everybody in town that has a screwdriver.  

 Starting in '71 Suzuki started year coding bikes in the last letter used in the name. You may see this code on your bikes paperwork or in a parts list or catalog.  I leave this off as it is redundant if you are showing the year anyway. There is a chart below to find your year code.

Below is a set of '89-'97 GSX750F 20C30 BST36SS Slingshot carbs. These seemingly simple carbs can fight you if you do not properly ID them. On top of the fact that a huge amount got stage kits that changed not only parts like needles, jets and springs, but also included emulsion tube changes. They even have a weird single staggered main jet on the #3 carb. There are a lot of things that can go wrong and make the bike run terrible. Also other countries do not use the exact same versions as the US so buying from Ebay can be a minefield. Almost every time a customer says the carbs are junk and they should be thrown away, it is just using the wrong combo of parts and they can work like new again. Also note the petcock vacuum line mounts to a cast spout on the side of the number 4 carb instead of a brass nipple as usual, if this is left open you will have a huge vacuum leak.
