'80-'82 GS450 Twins Early BS34 Carbs
This is the first gen GS450 with the early style BS34 carbs. Every model listed here will interchange physically and is basically the same. There are many body styles for this bike like E,L,S,and T models, but they all use this set. I still have to be on my toes as there has been a huge amount of horrible kits made for these over the years and the carbs will oxidize terribly if cleaned wrong or moisture has been introduced. When properly set-up these bikes are great and run great and can be very dependable. Not one kit I have ever seen will do as-is.
Starting in '71 Suzuki started year coding bikes in the last letter used in the name. You may see this code on your bikes paperwork or in a parts list or catalog. I leave this off as it is redundant if you are showing the year anyway. There is a chart below to find your year code.
Below is a set of '81 GS450T 44060 carbs. They are tricky to ID as the number is acid etched into the side of the top bell housing and is hard, if not impossible, to read. Most often you have to do detective work to properly rebuild these carbs. The set below has been customized with a modern Suzuki crossover with replaceable seals.
