'77-'79 GS400-425 Twins Early BS34 Carbs

This is the first gen GS400 with the early style BS34 carbs. Every model listed here will interchange physically, but settings will change and different tuning parts will cause issues if not properly identified. I expect these bikes to have the wrong carb and have to always make sure to ID them correctly and make sure they have proper parts installed. They can be a real hot mess. When properly set-up these bikes are great and run great and can be very dependable. Not one kit I have ever seen will do as-is.

Starting in '71 Suzuki started year coding bikes in the last letter used in the name. You may see this code on your bikes paperwork or in a parts list or catalog.  I leave this off as it is redundant if you are showing the year anyway. There is a chart below to find your year code.

Below is a set of '79 GS425 44060 carbs.  These and the GS400 carbs are hard to tell apart so they are comonly mixed in both parts and mounted models. They also are tricky to ID as the number is acid etched into the side of the top bell housing and is hard, if not impossible, to read. Most often you have to do detective work to properly rebuild these carbs.
