Rob's Carburetor Rebuilds

Mikuni RS Flatslide 34mm, 36mm, 38mm, and 40mm four cylinder Carbs

These are the modern smoothbore carb for multi-cylinder Japanese models and they come in a huge amount of fitting and tuning varieties.  Identifying these carbs can be tricky or pretty easy depending on the original supplier. They were sold in a semi-universal version made for various popular models and also they were sold by racing suppliers who would add proprietary parts for custom builds and mark them with their own ID's. If you buy a set of these from another bike than yours, you want to assume they have been changed. I can tune these for any bike they fit on as long as they were not a bad choice to begin with. At first glance the carbs look like you could change the bore spread to accommodate anything, but this is not actually the case. You can to some degree, but on some spreads the throttle shaft must be changed too and these can be hard to get for certain models. So, the list below will give to the basic ID's and the models they can fit.

Below is a set of Mikuni 36mm RS Flatslide D3 carbs. This is the most popular number I rebuild and they were made for the KZ1000-1100 Kawasaki's and GSXR750-1100 Oil cooled models.  I use only the best parts for these and know them stem to stern. I only cover US models here.

The below information is from a Mikuni catalog that lists the modt comon ID's and the bikes they were intended for.
